Unlike the abundance of animal-named postures and hasta mudras (hand gestures), there are few animal-named pranayamas (breath control practices). AA currently knows of four:

  1. The humming bee breathbhramari pranayama
  2. The pigeon breathkapota pranayama from Dru Yoga
  3. The crow’s beak breathkaki mudra pranayama (technically classified as a mudra but is a practice focusing on the breath)
  4. The serpent breathbhujangini mudra pranayama (technically classified as a mudra but is a practice focusing on the breath)
